So I managed to somehow locate a Canon FTb with a 50mm ƒ/1.4 S.S.C. lens miraculously attached to it, and the camera is in pristine condition. (At a Thrift store no less!) The Lens, well, it’s flawless! The focus is like silky smooth buttery goodness, topped off with just the right hint of splendid whipped cream. Oh yes, it is that good. If that isn’t good enough, well, the meter, apparently, is still functional, and seems to be accurate, or at least as accurate as I could tell.
Well, for Week #5, I’m thinking that this camera might very well be the war-horse to ride into battle, slaughtering a couple of dozens of frames of film. With the thought of trying to shoot 200ASA Colour film that is both fine grained, and punchy, using a lens that is said to be one of the best lenses that Canon has ever produced.
So to Week #5, may there be champagne and caviar in the future with a camera and lens combo that is both sure to please myself, and hopefully the masses that shall be viewing our blog.
Until next time, fellow bloggers, may the Gods of Film be blessed, and rain down many meters of unexposed film into our cameras for future worship!
Nice teaser Michael. I look forward to seeing your work from this fine combo. The TLb is one of my favorite classic SLRs.
haha! thanks! Hope that I’ll be able to give results worthy of the FTb (and the fun teaser). I am currently scanning my X-Pro roll of Provia 100F that I took in the Minolta 7000.
Talk about funky colours!
Very nice find!
Hehe.. Thank you!
I’m looking forward to seeing the photos from this fab find!
I’m lookin’ forward to seeing them as well. Be a bit, as just like Urban Hafner, I’m moving on to bigger and better.. (basically from an apartment to a house! YAY!)
But I should have some photos up on the weeks following..
Good luck with the move!
Nice little treasure you got yourself! Looking forward to see what this combo can do!
The canon FTb is a superb camera and excellent built, and that come from a guy that does not shoot canon
I love my Canons.. Starting to get into Pentax and Nikon but I have always been a Canon guy..
