Week 14: Spring!

For week #14 I finally went back to the Bronica SQ-Ai. This time around I left the prism and the grip at home and just used the WLF and the crank and the awesome 110mm f/4. This made the camera much, much lighter and the finder also a lot brighter.

I also left my meter at home and used the exposure guide recommended by Johnny Patience:

As you can see the images turned out fine, even with this crazy overexposure. I guess I will leave the meter at home more often from now on!

  1. Fantastic! Also I enjoy using ‘the force’ to get the exposure for an image. It’s a good activity for photographers. Awesome shots!

    • Thanks Alex! I’m really excited about this. I’ve never had good results with the proper Sunny 16 rule. But this, this even I can manage. And now all those meterless cameras in my collection will see a lot more action.

  2. When I lived in Monterey, a friend of mine had a Bronica that she dearly loved. Reminds me of old times on the California coast.

  3. I’m going to try this system as I also find “Sunny 16” doesn’t turn out such sunny results for me always. And I have several meterless cameras that I like a lot, especially the Pentax 67. Thanks for the inspiration.
