The last time I was at the Toronto Zoo I really wasn’t supposed to be on the property. No I hadn’t snuck in to avoid paying the entrance fee, it was to check out and walk the old Toronto Zoo “Monorail” this time however Heather and I went and paid the entrance fees. It was spring and all the new baby animals were starting to be more on display and we both had not been to the actual zoo in many years so we made a date of it.
Of course the day we went the weird spring weather in Ontario had shifted and it was cold and rained for much of the morning. But the morning we mostly spend indoors and only really got caught by heavy rain once. But the one good thing about this was that it kept the large crowds to a minimum so we could easily move around the zoo and actual get chances to see the animals. Oh and that first spider we saw, while Heather went in close, I recoiled. Yep, not a fan of spiders at all.
And we did get to see most of the new arrivals at the zoo, Juno the Polar Bear, the two lion cubs, and the two Panda Cubs as well. And as the day went on the weather improved and the sun came out as we strolled around the site checking out some wild horses, wolves, a bush plane, fish from around the world and even caught the penguins at lunch. Although I think the battery in my Lunasix F is dying as several images are very under exposed, I’ll have to get that replaced and recalibrated before photostock next month!
