With the crazy popularity of Pokemon Go I took my little Pikachu hunter, to the city square in Decatur Georgia. From what little traveling I’ve done in Europe, this is as close as you are going to get to typical town square, at least the ones I saw in Germany.
The Pokémon Go craze has done at least one piece of good: I saw people who would probably be stuck behind their computer at home walking around playing the game. It is also nice that, when they see my seven year old, people will give out advice and recommendations. I’ve learned to keep my little girl within arms reach for a number of reasons but it does feel like there is some sort of small community when there is a group of people playing at a central location.
I would venture to guess that this craze will end in a few months, tops but I hope that the sense of community being forged lives for much longer.
