Week 47: Polaroid Thanksgiving

Over the years our Thanksgiving plans have changed.  For a number of years, my wife and I  would go to the beach and spend our time together.  As the girls came into our life we would sometimes return to the beach.  Other times we would get with family locally or plan a trip where the whole family goes to a resort.  This year we all stayed in town and got together at my mother-in-laws house.  I like spending time with my extended family because the rest of my immediate family lives a thousand miles away.  My brother-in-law and his family put up with my constant tinkering with cameras and are generally good sports about letting me fire away.

This year I decided to break out the Polaroid 320 and use an attached flash gun.  People always make the same face after the photograph and complain that they still see the light from the flash.  In my mind, that’s part of the charm.  This camera also holds a special place in my heart because it’s the same one we had when I was a kid.  I remember every birthday and Christmas being captured on this camera and having the same reaction to the big, bright flash.

This is one of the posts from this year where I am actually in a frame.  This time its me and my wife and my father-in-law is at the help of the Polaroid.
